PUNTA CANA!

This year my husband and I are celebrating our 10yr wedding anniversary! As a gift from my amazing mother in law we are on our way to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic! First vacation together without kiddos and first time for me using my passport! We are currently awaiting our last flight to Punta Cana in North Carolina. We are tired, but excited to see what this trip has in store for us. I'll be blogging about our amazing adventure when we return from our vacation. Love and kisses to our boys and we'll see you soon! Hope everyone has a wonderful week, white sand beaches here we come!

Anderson is 6 months!

Meet little six month old Anderson!

This sweet boy is lil' Anderson who is now 6 months old! I was so excited to photograph him again as I hadn't seen him since his newborn session. I encourage bringing items that have some sentimental value to you for props to use during the session. The teddy bear was his moms bear when she was little and of course we had to take another photo of Anderson with his daddy's football. Below is a photo of him with the football when he was a baby and then some with the football from his recent session.

Zahler Family Session

Meet the Zahler family!

 This sweet family from the Tri-Cities area came up to Yakima for their family portrait session at the Yakima Arboretum. The trees were beautiful with the pretty pink and purple blossoms that provided a perfect backdrop for their photos. I loved how the family color coordinated their outfits, and the kids looked so cute! Below area a few of my favorite images from their session, enjoy!

This sweet couple was married at Memories at Sunset in Richland surrounded by their friends and family. The bride wore a stunning gown from Formal Couture and the groom looked very handsome in his suit. Seattle Business Magazine

Recently I had the pleasure of working with Seattle Business Magazine photographing Rick Linneweh, CEO of Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital for an editorial story on leaders in health care.The magazine comes out today March 1st on newsstands, here are some sneak peak images from my copy of the magazine. (Please click on image to enlarge) Mr. Linneweh was just awarded the 2012 Lifetime Achievement award for his hard work and bringing the community together to provide better health care facilities in the Yakima Valley. One of his fondest achievements was establishing the Children's Village 15 years ago which is an outpatient center for children with special health care and developmental needs.

I was lucky enough to tour the facility during our photo shoot and really enjoyed hearing about the story behind the design. The front plate glass windows show children drawings on the little tiles and when the children were asked what type of building they wanted to see they drew pictures of a fort house, thus the outside really does look like a fort! Inside the building really brings our valley to life with covered wagons, apple trees, horse and barn murals along the walls, and the elevator is design to look like a mine shaft with "gold" in the walls that you can see through the glass walls of the elevator as you go down.

Ashleigh & Zach

Meet Ashleigh & Zach!This sweet couple have planned their wedding for this April at Memories at Sunset in Richland. I had such a great time working with Ashleigh & Zach during their engagement session. We decided to photograph at Ahtanum Mission park, which was fill with lots and lots of snow! We had fun with the snow, with my little chalk board I brought along and because it was close to Valentines day the heart candy.
