Seattle Business Magazine

Recently I had the pleasure of working with Seattle Business Magazine photographing Rick Linneweh, CEO of Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital for an editorial story on leaders in health care. The magazine comes out today March 1st on newsstands, here are some sneak peak images from my copy of the magazine. (Please click on image to enlarge) Mr. Linneweh was just awarded the 2012 Lifetime Achievement award for his hard work and bringing the community together to provide better health care facilities in the Yakima Valley. One of his fondest achievements was establishing the Children's Village 15 years ago which is an outpatient center for children with special health care and developmental needs.

I was lucky enough to tour the facility during our photo shoot and really enjoyed hearing about the story behind the design. The front plate glass windows show children drawings on the little tiles and when the children were asked what type of building they wanted to see they drew pictures of a fort house, thus the outside really does look like a fort! Inside the building really brings our valley to life with covered wagons, apple trees, horse and barn murals along the walls, and the elevator is design to look like a mine shaft with "gold" in the walls that you can see through the glass walls of the elevator as you go down.

I could definitely see how a child would be very comfortable going into such an bright and happy environment. To find information on how you can get involved and help out with the health care needs of our community, please click HERE.
